Abstract

Silos Abbey MSS (BL Add. 30847, 30848, 30850) show "Visigothic" notation, suggesting a gradual shift from the Hispanic rite. Detailed study reveals a complex relationship, challenging previous assumptions.

Toledan sources of Hispanic Chant

Abstract

The sources of the Hispanic rite, mainly preserved within the archives of the Toledo Cathedral and the National Library of Spain in Madrid, constitute a distinctive corpus, different from other manuscripts of this ancient rite. The presence of an exclusive notation, their comparatively decayed appearance in terms of handwriting, the existence of a distinct liturgical tradition, and finally, theories suggesting that its origin could be much later than that of other sources, make this group of manuscripts an object of particular interest for reconstructing the history of Hispanic chant, due to the questions their mere existence make us consider.

Comparison Between the Acoustic Texture Obtained Through In Situ Measurements and That Calculated From Virtual Models of a Pre-Romanesque Church

Abstract

This article addresses its importance by comparing the Acoustic Texture calculated from impulse responses obtained through real measurements of the pre-Romanesque church of Sant Miquel, in Terrassa, Spain, with those obtained using a virtual acoustic model of the church.
